Cytotoxic Potential of Curcuma Caesia Extract and Derived Gold Nanoparticles Against Breast Cancer Cells
Selective Cytotoxicity Against Cancerous Cells
A recent study has demonstrated the selective cytotoxicity of Curcuma caesia rhizome extract and its mediated gold nanoparticles against breast cancer cell lines. While the extract and nanoparticles exhibited cytotoxic effects on breast cancer cells, no toxicity was observed in other cell lines, such as L 929 and HeLa.
Potential Treatment Option for Breast Cancer
The findings suggest that both the crude rhizome extract and its derived gold nanoparticles have promising potential as selective cytotoxic agents for targeting breast cancer cells. Further research is needed to explore the mechanisms of action and potential clinical applications of these natural compounds in the fight against breast cancer.
